Two big thumbs up.....I finally spit out the cash for this and it is a GREAT addition to the team. Amber said I would be happy and I certainly am.

No I dont rep for them, but I will say I would recommend them.

Toy ghost detectors are great for fun and games - but what if your house really is infested with demons and spirits who want to ruin your life and swallow your soul? That's when you need The GHOST DETECTOR / Trifield Natural EMF Meter. The TriField Natural EM Meter was created by Dr. William B. Lee, Phd (Physics) in 1996 and is loved by Ghost Hunters and Parapsychologists for its ability to detect and measure extremely weak static (or "natural") electric and magnetic fields.

The model 2 is the one that surprised me, of course you got one of them too? ;)
UFO's are your problem, and not ghosts, you say? Another version of the Trifield Natural EMF Meter, the Model 2, is equipped with a probe for detecting extremely high altitude UFO's. (No, we aren't making this up.)

Well I use them for finding good spots to drop a recorder, back up a "feeling", etc. but I guess you could go either way....

I saw this post on EMFs and I thought someone might be able to help out. So I would love a trifield meter...but oh well, I have to settle for a 30.00 thing my mom bought me for Christmas...I am afraid it won't be too helpful, can anyone help me out here? Maybe some tips?

Well there are all kinds of people here who would be happy to help ya I am sure . If we knew exactly what meter you had it might allow us to offer up some advice. Remember some of the simplest equipment sometimes works just as good as the expensive ones.

This appears to be a pretty basic analog emf meter and should work just fine have you tested it at all ? some models have a buzzer on them that sounds as emf levels are detected this can be helpful while in the dark and could be used also to "communicate" much like a K2 . Hope this help a bit any other help you need with your meter please ask . Also remember to test it around your equipment some walkies can set meters off while transmitting and recieving . They also commonly respond to cell phones . always hold your meter about arms length away and move in slow steady movements.

The Ghost Meter you have is basically the second generation of the popular Cellsensor. It simply incorporates the external probe into the unit. It is a single axis AC gaussmeter. Thus, you have to rotate the unit on all three axises to see if a field exists and if you want to know the total field strength you need to calculate it out, by taking the square root of the sum of the squares of each dimension field strength. It has a fairly flat frequency response curve and cuts out around the 10 Hz and 5 kHz ranges. As far as I know, this model does not have a 50/60 Hz ban filter on it. Thus, you will have to be careful for electrical appliances can give you false readings. It is a great unit because it offers both an analog read out as well as flashes/beeps.

Nice purchase. :)

Thank you both for the great information, now I won't feel like such a newb when I use it, I was waling around my house using it, seeing what electrical and other things it would react with...

By the way, I saw a 6 or 8 point buck in back of my apartment today, it was standing with it's butt out and it's head in the woods...it was maybe a hundred feet or so away...

Well next time you see it, grab your gun, your EMF meter and get to work! You never know what you might come across in the woods! :)
