This is something I wrote while listening to a haunting piano piece entitled
'Song for a Fallen Tree'. Eventually I will record myself reading this work over
the piece because I think it kind of get's lost without hearing it.
But here is the words anyway!
Stv
Song For A Fallen Tree :
They walk.
Slowly.
Overhead and overheard.
Whispers of sadness.
Tree’s whisper their lore through leaves,
Twisted and brown,
Dieing.
Once Again.
This song,
This song that has been sung for years…
Still sings.
Peace unto it’s night.
And pieces through the dead of winter,
Which shine like beacons on the pier of wonder.
Little hand holds another.
“when can we go?”
Along comes another breeze,
It swings the branches which dance unto it’s leaves.
Tighten the grip.
Soft sand under footsteps.
Once long ago this happened.
Not here, nor there…
But far from the troubles we share.
Far from those who are dieing or in need,
Somewhere is this funeral…
for a fallen tree. _________________ Don't be afraid....of the green light

Very good Steve! I can really see this being read over the music like you said and it brought some cool visuals to my mind while reading it. Very cool! _________________ Amberrose

thanks! I used to write 'darker' poems quite a bit! lol.
I wrote about everything from vampires to werewolves!
One of my favorites was about a serial killer comparing his murders
to making love with his eyes closed. The poem is a bit too much for this
forum probably, but I write all kinds of stuff...not so much anymore.
That poem I posted last night was the first I had written in probably
2 years.
Even got a 'review' if you can call it that, from Chris Alexander who does
writing and reviews for Rue Morgue Magazine!
"Dear Edgar Allan Pooh:
Sir, I sincerely wish that scientists find out a way to clone your third rate Anne Rice riffing, puffy shirt wearing ass..then I can feel secure in suggesting that you go fuck yourself...
Leprechaun Back 2 The Hood was infinitely more interesting that your namby pamby hippie goth garble. " _________________ Don't be afraid....of the green light
