Mid-Winter Hell!!!

Postby Amberrose on Sat Jan 19, 2008 10:46 am

I hate this time of year. January is the longest month ever. February seems to go by quick but it's always alarmingly cold and annoying and March just angers me even more because it's "Spring" but never feels like spring. March is just as cold and snowy as the other winter months. And if we get a snow storm in April!?! Well, I just feel staring at a wall. I can remember the weather warming up a bit in April. I can actually remember being at Grand Valley going to school and sweat running down my back from the heat and my backpack. The next week....two feet of snow. Of course it didn't last but talk about depressing.
And also, while I'm on the subject of weather....does anyone remember when the weather actually did start to warm up in March? Just like 50 degrees at least? Now it doesn't seem to warm up till then end of April or May!! The end is near!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHh!!!

Well I have found the forums a new use: therapeutic ranting!

I hate Michigan winters. Today stinks and I guess it is suppose to be this way for awhile. It wouldnt be so bad if spring was really in March like it's suppose to be. Grrrr. I'm a outdoorsy person but I hate the cold so winter and me dont get along.

Ok I do remember that!!! And someone was trying to tell me, "No no, No Amber...you must have been on something!!" But thank you! There was a day a long time ago, and it was in the 90's because I was in highschool and I remember being outside with no coat on. There was snow on the ground melting like crazy but it was really, really warm out!

And let's revisit this post one more time because I don't know about any of you guys, but my god...this weather is seriously putting me into a really depressing funk.
This weekend I was on the east side of the state and actually couldn't even drive home because the weather was so bad on the west side. We've already gotten more snow fall then the average also. I thought the planet was supposed to be warming up!!

I think I get that seasonal depressing thingy people talk about. It wouldn't so bad if I didn't have to drive to the other side of the state so often. Plus, I'm a complete wussy when it comes to driving in any type of bad weather. I'm the person that's going slower then everyone else but I prefer to call it the "Safety Train" when everyone lines up behind me. There's nothing that I relish more than seeing the ass that goes blowing past me because he's got super hero powers or something when in bad weather, and then you see him in his four wheel drive SUV/Truck off in the ditch. Then, me and my safety train gently drive past him and wave.

Ok that rant made me feel 2% better.

I think I'm going to go to Florida and live on the streets.

It was awful just driving from Standish to Bay City yesterday - and it isn't even that far.

I can't wait for spring!

hi !!!
it may be cold, but at least it's sunny which makes it a little more bearable. my hubby and i took a walk yesterday and today in the woods in a nearby park. the wind was frigid on our cheeks, but we were bundled up wearing many layers. the fresh cold air did us good. believe me people, i can't stand the cold. i'm the most happiest getting a tan on the beach. the hotter the better. don't care what people say about wearing fur. i was sweating my butt off in the 5 degree weather.

i wonder, can ghosts get cold???

We've had sun, I was in 68 degree weather just this past Sunday that was very therapeutic and the sun actually feels warm now when you are in it....there might be hope for Michigan coming into Spring after all. (Crap...I probably just jinxed us....knock on the Internet)

Hey I remember when I was little there was snow on Easter in APRIL!! and Easter was late in the month, so this ain't nuttin.
I also can't wait till it warms up. I absolutely hate being cold and/or wet (unless it's hot water, think hot tub , showers, etc) so I also can't wait till it gets 90 degrees outside, maybe I'll de-thaw by then. I keep thinking that the seasons are changing around here, probably due to global warming. IT just seems like everything is getting pushed back, winter comes late then, spring, then summer only lasts for one or two months. Not like it was was in the 50's and 60's but what do I know I'm old and senile.LOL,

I remember in like 2001-2002 or something like that, I was going to school at Grand Valley State. It was near 80 out and I remember just sweating to death walking to class because I still had a coat on and my backpack was making my back hot. Then, the next day, we got a foot of snow! It was nuts and sent everyone into a raging depression.

weather

Postby Uglynrude on Fri Mar 07, 2008 4:33 pm

I am surprised they say we only had 69 inches of snow so far this year and the average for the year is 70 inches .... they say we usually get 10 inches in march and average 4 inches in april. ...... so winter isn't over.
