Worse Hunt

Amber and I was talking in chat one day, and we were discussing the worst hunt we had ever been on, so I thought that would make a good question of the Day.

For me it was one I was doing down in Texas. There was a daycare that was said to be haunted by the ghost of a satanist, and it was scaring the children. The person who asked me to investigate it was the owners son, as he said his mother would never go for it. Now normally I would of turned it down, and dismissed it, but I knew that before it was a daycare, the building was where some teenagers use to get stoned, and one of the kids that frequented it did kill a clerk at the c-store a block up with an ice pick. When confronted he said Satan was speaking through his to dog to him. The kid was tried and sent to Death Row So I took the story at face value, and figured it was plausible. Texas has a very fast death row, as they believe in capital punishment, the normal wait is 1-2 years, for a appeal, endless you did something really bad, then its with in a year.

So I brought my team in, well the kid who sent us in had the place rigged up nice, some fake blood on the walls, they loosened the door hinges so the doors would swing open in the breeze. Needless to say they had the crew almost buying into it, including me, when i found a tape recorder in the vents playing the low whispers we were hearing.

Needless to say, me and the kid had a little chat about the joke in privet latter

Amber has a good one also...

Wow...that's all I gotta say...WOW.

My worst hunt was worst for a different reason...we didn't have any blatant fraudulent activity, but uh...hehe. We did a house in the middle of summer that had no air conditioning. We had done plenty of private residences without a/c before, but for some reason, I guess since it was a particularly hot evening and the house was MUCH smaller inside than what it looked like outside...it was stifling. Sweat pouring down everyone...it was just miserable. I think I drank about 8 bottles of water that night.

Anyway, since the house was so small and the owners creeped out by what they were experiencing, against our better judgment we went ahead and let them leave...go down to their closest neighbor's about a half a mile away. Once we got investigating we found tons of evidence...but not of a paranormal variety. We found drug paraphernalia, drugs themselves...even the "faces in a plate" that had been reported...we could see from the picture they took and the plate that was produced...that it was a plate marked with white residue and razorblade knicks.

We did manage to get one really awesome EVP from the investigation, but we can't even share it with anyone, because they signed their confidentiality documents with the clause that nothing be released to anyone. They didn't even want us to come back to give them the evidence we collected...they said they felt uncomfortable with our founders.

So yeah...that's probably the worst investigation I've been on. We were afraid the DEA was gonna come bust us all, or that we'd melt, lol. I also accidently stuck my hand in a bag of lime they had sitting out in one of their backrooms. I woke up the next day with a rash all over my arm and stomach...not sure if it was heat rash, poison ivy, or allergic reaction to the lime, lol.

A close second was another private residence that was set up for us through a local real estate agent. There had been rumors of the house being haunted, so the new owners just wanted us to check it out...and invited the WHOLE neighborhood! Plus, the real estate agent had brought like 6 teenagers with her for some reason who wanted to be paranormal investigators. All in all we had about 30 people in the one car garage of a two bedroom house.

We were told the house had electricity...which it did not. That meant another summer investigation with no a/c, plus we had to run our equipment from the neighbor's house...we had 100ft extension cords running all over the yard, lol. The teenagers were rude and condenscending and didn't want to listen to direction. Instead, they wanted to sit in the dark and make out with each other, lol. We couldn't do any evp work because we had thirty looky loos in the garage, talking loudly. We finally just had to pack up and tell them we had done all we could...and not a bit of evidence was captured that night.

And even though these investigations sucked, I don't really like to think of any investigation as a waste. It was definitely a learning experience in both cases...and a reminder that we need to be prepared for any obstacles that are thrown at us, lol.

Wow I haven't had any of those, I am glad also, as I know you all signed confidential papers and all, that still puts you in a ruff spot, between morals and law.

I agree with you on nothing wasted, each time out you refine your skills, you learn more about what is happening and can make better judgments based on experience. I know the majority of cases yield nothing, and I really get upset with groups who seem to post that they get activity on every hunt. (Must be the spirits don't like them)

Since we started this new group, we have done maybe 3-4 hunts so far, and I can only think of one thing I have questioned. Which I sent to a few people who have more experience them me to listen to, and give me there thoughts.

But thats another topic maybe the question for tomorrow, what to do with Ghost Groupies lol
