"Matrixing is a term we use here at TAPS to describe the human mind's natural tendency to find familiar shapes in complex shapes or colors. In other words finding a face in the shapes and shadows of a collection of objects.
Ever sit back on the grass as a child and watch the clouds roll through the sky, pointing out the shapes of rabbits or dragons? How about the man in the moon? There isn't really the face of a man on the moon. It is the complex pattern of craters and ravines that causes our mind to form a face. This is matrixing.
Matrixing can be deceiving but if it were not for this ability we wouldn't be able to recognize each other. In fact it is due to the effects of matrixing that we are able to recognize varying types of fonts. If our minds weren't able to distinguish the subtle nuances of each letter then, we would only be able to read one font. Unfortunately, it is also matrixing which causes people to see skulls and faces in tree branches, mirrors, shiny furniture, cluttered closets, etc.
So, Matrixing exists and is a big problem in the paranormal investigation field. What, then, can we do about it? Here are a few ways to identify it and eliminate it before someone else does, and ends up ruining your credibility." Grant Wilsion
I though the first thing we would talk about is Photographic Evidence. As you can see from the Legends photographic evidence is not something new to Ghost Hunting, as it is a useful tool when you know what you are looking for....
My team (well Sean and I) decided tonight we were going to do a little Hunt, for some fun, there is a local legend on Whites Bridge Road involving a witch hung back in the 1800's (why is it that all ghost are from this time lol)
So taking his Nikkon Cool Pix S6 Digital Camera *5.8-17.4 mm as we were not planning on doing a long hunt as it id cold out we decided we would not try to get evp that is suppose to be happening around there, and we would take some shots of the bridge.
EXHIBIT 1
This is the Bridge, as you can see I am standing off to the right when this picture was taking, between the time of this picture and the next, I had walked up next to Sean and exhaled...
EXHIBI2 2
No this is not ghost mist, this is my breath caught on camera, which is common and most people will sometime try to pass it off as supernatural when it is not. But we are not here to discuss that today....
Look at the next Picture
EXHIBI2 3
See the girls face in the red circle, when Sean and I pulled this up on the computer, to look at it, yes it did creep us out for a second, but we knew the mist was my breath....which leads us to believe the face caught in this photo is nothing more then a pattern that our mind picks out by the curves and depths, and draws the conclusion that it is a face...That is why knowing what Materixing is important, as you do not want to make claims of a ghost on film, that is going to be proved easily false...Hope you enjoyed the pictures... _________________ "There are things that go bump in the night, we are the one's who bump back"

Thanks I was hoping that this would help people just starting and hoped I explained it right. Helped to have the photo docs to show what I was talking about. _________________ "There are things that go bump in the night, we are the one's who bump back"

| I've never really put too much into pictures when I see strange things that shouldn't be there. What you posted was one case in point. Either our minds show us what we want to see or something about the photography just wasn't right when that picture was taken. Thanks for sharing this. It just helps to confirm in my own mind why I don't put too much emphasis on pictures like these.

Not all pictures are faked though. If you look into the Legends section I have posted a bunch of photos that have never been disproved, not that Onefrijoel doesn't try lol.
It is my thoughts you can capture evidence on film, you just have to know what you are looking for. In this case it would of been easy to say we saw the Ghost...and if you did not know anything about photography you may of believed it as well.
Kirlian photography was discover by Semyon and Valentina Kirlian in the USSR, this photography was not developed for taking pictures of the aura in mind and was develop to take pictures of the electrical activity or corona produced around the 200KHZ frequency. More resent research is concentrated on a different audio frequency rangeing under 10KHZ. Of course in some regards the aura is not so unlike corona, both are energy fields that are generated and resonate around a number of energy sources, as we know the sun has a powerful corona and to a much lesser degree so does the earth and all matter gives off atomic energies.
Another thing we are doing in my group is Black Light Photography by using black light florescent lights to stimulate the uv rays. We set this up on for shots where a person is feeling watched, and we have yet to find a clue to what is going on.

I agree with you that there are photos where there've been really strange things picked up. I know it does happen but 9 times out of 10 it's nothing like what alot of people are thinking it is.
And yes, too much knowledge is corruption lmao
