Hello,

I love reading the ghost hunting how-to books just to see what approach everyone else takes. I've finished reading a few and I was just wondering if anyone could recommend some good ones. I'm just finishing "The Ghost Hunter's Guidebook" by Troy Taylor. It's a great book!

Michelle

If I were to suggest one it would have been the one you just finished By Troy Taylor. You have a healthy appetite for the paranormal, and the desire for it to make you a good catch for any team, thats all we can ask from our members, to have disire, and integrity.
Talk soon,

I just finished;
The Feild Guide to North American Hauntings
Written by: W. Haden Blackman
Kinda cheesy, but it does have some good info in the back.
Worth a look.

The Death and Afterlife Book
The encyclopedia of death, near death, and after life.
Written by:James R Lewis
I thought it to be a so so book, but still worth a look.

The World Of The Unexplained
An illustration guide to the paranormal
Written by: Janet and Colin Bord
Again very interesting, lots of photos, and captions, yet keeps you reading.

Take care,

Troy's is definitly one of the best books on the market when it comes to investigations. Loyd Auerbach has a couple good books as well and he's been in the field for many, many years and he's an actual parapsycologist. There's a lot of crap books out on the market because of the paranormal boom in all forms of media right now. A lot of the books on the shelf at Barnes and Noble all have the same information in them. Llewellyn is a notorious publisher for putting the same info out there, just different cover and different author.

Another author to check out is anything by Rosemary Ellen Guiley. She's a wonderful person and extreamly intelligent when it comes to the paranormal. I recommend her encyclopedia of Ghsots and Spirits.

I would like to get a book like that. Although if it had anything about the occult or other things like that in it I would not be interested.

I also do not like book's that talk about things (especially in the paranormal) as if they were 100% certain how "ghosts" work because at this point all anyone has is theory's and thing's that they tested out that worked for them.

So I guess I would be looking for a straight forward no b.s. kind of book.
